Port Arthur Community Action Network Hosts “Who’s in Our Backyard?” Town Hall

As new industrial and carbon capture projects move forward in Southeast Texas, residents of Port Arthur are raising important questions about health, safety, and accountability. The Port Arthur Community Action Network (PACAN) is hosting a public town hall, “Who’s in Our Backyard?”, to discuss current industrial developments, new permit requests, and the proposed ammonia and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects planned for the area.
The event will take place Monday, October 20, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM CST.

This town hall is about protecting our health, our homes, and our future.”
The discussion will highlight the environmental and public health impacts of industrial expansion and empower residents with tools to participate in decision-making processes around proposed permits and projects.
